Shoal Creek Foot & Ankle Center is pleased to have Dr. Valarie L. Ikerd, DPM, FACFAS, as part of our expert podiatry team. With nearly 25 years of experience in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Ikerd brings a deep commitment to evidence-based care, surgical precision, and patient-focused treatment.
Education & Training
Dr. Ikerd is a Texas native who spent most of her life in Kansas. She earned dual degrees in Biology and English from Baker University, where she attended on an academic scholarship. She went on to complete her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Des Moines University, where she received a prestigious research award for her academic work.
She completed her surgical residency at Loma Linda University/VA Medical Center in California, a program known for its excellence in podiatric surgery and medical research.
Board Certification & Hospital Affiliations
Dr. Ikerd is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She holds hospital privileges at Freeman Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and 32nd Street Surgery Center, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.
Her clinical research has been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing the field of podiatric medicine.
