Dr. Shelly D. Sedberry, an Oklahoma native, graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Norman with a Bachelor of Science in professional chemistry and a Master of Science in chemistry and biochemistry. She received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University in Iowa. While there she was awarded the Des Moines University Research Award and a University Merit Scholarship.

Dr. Sedberry completed her three-years at one of the top podiatric surgery residency programs in the nation, Yale-New Haven Hospital/VA Connecticut Healthcare System, where she was chief resident. She also trained in private offices, stand-alone surgery centers, and community hospitals to achieve a well-rounded experience. During her time there she authored and co-authored several podiatric studies that were published in peer-reviewed medical journals.

After residency, Dr. Sedberry moved back to the Midwest to open Shoal Creek Foot & Ankle Center in Joplin, Missouri. She created this state-of-the-art facility to provide patients in the four-state area with the best treatment options available. She prides herself on treating foot and ankle pain with passion, expertise, and care.

Dr. Sedberry is a highly skilled surgeon credentialed in rearfoot and ankle reconstruction. She is board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She has privileges at Mercy Hospital Joplin, Mercy Hospital Carthage, Freeman Hospital West, Freeman Surgical Center, and 32nd Street Surgery Center. She also visits Northeastern Tribal Health System once a month.


Lucas S. Tebbe, DPM, AACFAS

Podiatric Foot & Ankle Surgeon

Dr. Lucas S. Tebbe, locally raised in Missouri, graduated valedictorian from Walnut Grove High School where he was also first team all-state in baseball. He continued his education at Drury University where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in both biology and chemistry. During that time, he logged over 500 research hours and co-authored several studies that were published in peer-reviewed journals. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University in Iowa.

Dr. Tebbe completed his three-year residency at University Health Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This program provides excellent, well-rounded training in podiatric medicine, rearfoot and ankle reconstruction surgery, and wound care. He also obtained non-podiatric experiences in vascular, general surgery, internal medicine, infectious diseases, and emergency medicine.

After residency, Dr. Tebbe moved back home and began his professional career at Shoal Creek Foot & Ankle Center – Springfield Clinic.

Dr. Tebbe is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He will have privileges at Mercy Hospital Springfield, Mercy Surgery Center Springfield, and Cox Medical Center South.
